From The Womb

Masculine vs Feminine

Finding The Right Balance

Recently I had a Friend of my  Dad's come and visit me, in my shop, and he told me how offended he was that I had a 'girlpower' sign out the front of the shop and that from now on he would boycott my business, because it was sexest that there was no manpower around!  He, of course was only stirring and a debate proceeded over the battle of the sexes!  This was exactly what he wanted!  He loves a good argument made in jest!  So I am going to write a short article all in honor of him!  I do not for one minute think that males should rule over females or that females should rule over males. I do believe how ever that we, males and females both need to drop the battle of the sexes, and agree that we both have many wonderful traits to offer each other and society.

Firstly I am led to believe that we women first dominated society and had what is called a matriarchal society.  Women were revered and powerful.  This was a time when magic was strong and the Goddess ruled.  Somewhere along the way Males decided for whatever reason that they were not being honored and that they should take over and thus we became and still are in a lot of ways a patriarchal society.  Which one is better who is to say!  But I believe that now is the time for the womanhood to re-emerge once again, not to rule but to re-gain our wisdom's that have been lost.  This is so we can re-learn our inner "wisdom's" and pass these on to our children and our children's children.  So that women can once again feel a sense of pride at being a woman, and not be ashamed of who we are, but so we can gain a equal footing alongside the men that we live with.

All of us have inside of us both male and female aspects.  We can not live in harmony with ourselves, if these two sides are out of balance.   Both come with lessons.  Men can not live without women and women cannot live without men.  We all need to balance the male and female parts of ourselves before we can have a more fulfilling relationship with the opposite sex.  Both males and females have positive and negative traits, males can be harsh violent and aggressive, but they can also be protective, and helpful.  Women can be weak, insecure and needy and they can also be open receptive and nurturing.  As we see in society we also have women that are harsh violent and aggressive and men that are weak insecure and needy.  Boys are generally raised and expected to be rough and tumble, and girls are generally raised to be sweet, pleasant and nurturing.  The yin yang symbol is a symbol of the male and female aspects of ourselves coming together as one.  The planet cannot sustain itself without the warming and sometimes (hot fiery) energy of the sun (masculine), we would also be lost without the ebb and flow of the moon (feminine) nurturing and sustaining us.  We need both.

We need both masculine and feminine energies to conduct our lives.   For us to gain new ideas and be receptive we need our feminine intuition to be activated.  In order for our ideas to become real and manifest we need to take the outward male/action orientated steps.  In order for a happy life we need to balance our hearts (emotions/feminine) with our minds (rational/masculine).  We have all been in situations in which  we have been overly emotional and let our emotions rule a situation, and conversely we have all been in situations in which we have let our rational mind rule.  In order for there to be balance we need both (our hearts and our minds), to have there little say.  I really could go on for hours but I think I will leave it there. Much love to you finding the balance within so you can have balance in your outer world too.   I think my 9 yr old son says it best: We need both Girlpower and Boypower to have Superpower!
